The Only Story

If you’re in your 20s, you probably won’t get this. If you’re in your 30s, you probably won’t want to. When you reach your 40s, it may well resemble a toothache you’d like to ignore but can’t. Over 50, you’ll most likely have amassed enough experience of your own to know that this is simply the way the world is. How you choose to take that is entirely up to you.

And then there’s this: how can a book this sad be so very, very, very readable?
